The land took hold of me in the 2000s, during a weekend at the home of friends living in Puisaye, a land of potters.

Then came the shock, on the Pont des Arts in Paris,

The sublime clay giants of Ousmane Sow!

I told myself, 'When I grow up I will be a sculptor.'
